  3. Zoetic dance ensemble • Founded 1999 by Melanie Lynch-Blanchard and CandessGiyan • Blanchard took over as Artistic Director • 2014 new Artistic Director, Mallory Baxley (ME! YAY!) (former Zoetic dance company member); Blanchard took new title as Creative Director • All female, non-profit • Name inspired by the Greek word “zoe” meaning living, vital and animated • Edgy, athletic, female-driven style focusing on themes of empowerment and personal anecdote and experiences; Focus on dance education in youth-adult students • 11 company dancers • Recognized as Best Dance Performance in Creative Loafing, 39 Days of IDEAs, Best of Atlanta, Best New Moves in Atlanta Magazine, Best New Arts Organization by Metro Atlanta Chambers of Commerce

Staibdance • Founded by George Staib, 2007 • 12 dancers • Born in Iran • Studied dance at Dickinson College in Pennsylviania; received BA in political science; MFA in dance • Professor of dance at Emory University • Performed with Jose Limon Dance Company for a guest role in the remake of MissaBrevis • Studied Gaga with Batsheva in 2011 after winning the Winship Award and travelling to Tel Aviv • Incorporates Isreali dance in his work as well as his yearly summer workshop in Sorrento, Italy
