  3. Purpose • To identify accomplished educators to serve as mentors and coaches, providing follow-up support to early career teachers working in the SIZ • To provide an overview of the inventory of professional development offerings available on the SIZ website

Professional Development Framework Experienced Teachers Student Service Personnel Principals & AP’s New Teachers Support Teams Family Involvement Using Data Teaching and Learning Accomplished Teaching Peer Coaching, Peer Study Groups Learning Communities Classroom Walk-through Continuous Improvement Peer Coaching and Collaborative Planning Electives Professional Partners Peer Coaching and Collaborative Planning Classroom Walk-through Continuous Improvement District and Zone Staff Progress Monitoring Classroom Walk-through Data Analysis Continuous Improvement District Staff Teaching and Learning Family Involvement Using Data Instructional Connections NEST Each focus area will be tied to a menu of professional development offerings, providing enhanced opportunities for choice!

New Educator Support Team (NEST) • Joint collaboration between M-DCPS and UTD to provide new teachers with additional mentoring, assistance and support • Enhanced version now available! • Sessions have been scheduled on the following dates – Feb.12, 26, March 5, 12, April 9, 16 & May 14, 28 (all sessions are from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
