  1. Studies show that when employees’ work behavioral styles match the requirements of the position, they are happiest and, therefore, do their best work. Conversely, when work behavioral styles are at odds with the tasks of the position, employees are unhappy and dissatisfied, and, therefore, do not perform up to their potential. Personality/Work Styles Most people have a blend of styles, not just one. Let’s just look at your predominant style.

  3. Influencing What careers would this personality type find most attractive? • The “people person” • Wants recognition • Spontaneous • Playful • Friendly • Priority: Interacting in relationships • Comfortable with change

  4. Steadiness • Likes explicit direction • Wants to be liked • Easy going • Loyal • Personal • Priority: Maintaining relationships • Changes slowly

  5. Think about career choices! It’s never too early! Compliance • The “quality control” person • Wants to be correct • Systematic • Thorough • Organized • Priority: The process • Changes reluctantly

  6. Scenario • It’s 8:55 a.m., and the lobby is crowded with people hurrying to work. • What does the Dominance personality do? • The Influencing? • The Steadiness? • The Compliance?
