Background • Consists of thirteen schools in the surrounding area • Located in Purvis, MS at the alternative school • Consists of small technology staff • -director of technology • -instructional technologist • -data managers • -network technicians • -help desk • 10 window servers • 2700 window workstations • 400 mac books

4. Cisco • Hurricane Katrina affected the schools in the area • 40 million dollars was given to the area schools • 21 century schools programs • -Cisco wants students to reach their highest potential

5. Help Desk • Responsible for taking calls • Making help tickets • Entering the information into the database

6. Business Learning Center • Had to set up a polycom • For a seventh grade math class • Purvis upper and Oak Grove upper would be via polycom

7. Wireless Network • Went to Oak Grove High to set up a wireless network • They wanted to use fiber optic cables • Used a Cisco antenna outside on the building

8. In focus • I attended a meeting with in focus • A global leader in visual communications • The school district wanted to purchase a few more of their IN3114 projectors • The projects get the students more involved

9. Wiki Website • Had to help set up the wiki website • Moving flipcharts and open office files to the website • Gives teachers from the other schools access to the information

10. Imaging • Had to image close to twenty or more computers • Also had to image a few mac books • Imaged straight from the network • Mac books was imaged using an external hard drive

11. Fixed Assests • The schools are audited once a year • We had to make sure that anything technology was in the right place • Everything tagged

12. Conclusion • In conclusion, I am glad that I had the opportunity to work in the school district. I never considered working in the school district. I gained a lot of information and I am thankful to have had the experience.
