  3. Shakespeare’s Childhood Shakespeare began Stratford grammar school at age 6 or 7. Stratford grammar school had been built 200 years before Shakespeare was born. Shakespeare absorbed much of what he was taught at Stratford grammar school. Shakespeare had impressive familiarity of Latin Authors and their writings.

  4. Shakespeare’s Adolescence • Shakespeare was removed from his school when he was about thirteen due to his family’s financial problems, but there is no reason to believe he had acquired a firm grasp on his English and Latin studies and that he went to school elsewhere. • Shakespeare’s daily activities after he left school, and before he became a famous actor and writer and unknown. • It is suggested that he worked as a schoolmaster, lawyer, or a glover with his dad and brother are all possibilities. • In the period known as the first period of the “lost years” during his adolescence , one piece of info is known, he had married a pregnant orphan named Anne Hathaway.

  5. Shakespeare’s Adulthood • Started a career in theatre • Wrote over 30 plays and poems • Married Anne Hathaway and had 3 children • In the second period of the “lost years”, it is probable that Shakespeare was recruited by an acting group, Leicester's, or the Queen’s men. • Shakespeare was forced to travel to London to start his career, but was known for his great acting.

  6. King Edward VI (October 12, 1537 – July 6, 1553) Was crowned King of England and Ireland at the age of nine. During King Edwards reign, the realm was governed by a Regency Council, because he never reached maturity. The Regency Council was led by his Uncle, Edward Seymour, the first Duke of Somerset. King Edwards reign was marked by economic problems, military withdrawal and social unrest that erupted into riot and rebellion. King Edward fell ill in 1553 and proclaimed his cousin Lady Jane Grey his heir, excluding his half sisters from the throne. Lady Jane Grey was only Queen for nine days before King Edwards half sister , Mary, was proclaimed Queen.

Social Contribution Shakespeare was a poet who wrote some of the most famous plays and poems including: The Witches Spell, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Macbeth, Coridanus, Antony and Cleopatra, and many others. Shakespeare was known for writing all types of plays and poems. He has been an inspiration to many authors, poets, and screen writers.

  8. Shakespeare Interview • If I could Interview Shakespeare, here are the questions I would ask: • Question 1: What was your inspiration to write Macbeth? • Question 2: If you didn’t write poetry or plays, what would you have done in life? • Question 3:If you could write one more play or poem, what would it be about and why?
