    2. The Lions Mentoring Program A Lion can be either a Mentor or a Mentee in either the Basic or Advanced Mentoring Program. Each level of the program has specific goals that need to be reached within a defined time. In the two-level Lions Mentoring Program, a Lion can be either a Mentor or Mentee in the Basic or Advanced Mentoring Program. I am here today to tell you about the Basic and Advanced sections of the program. We’ll give an overview of the program, discuss the benefits of participating and tell you how to get started in the program.     4. The Lions Mentoring Program Mentoring is a common occurrence. At one time or another, we have all been a mentor or a mentee. We all have learned something from someone. Or taught something to someone. The Lions Mentoring Program was built with you in mind. We know that: Lions have knowledge to give. New members are often more pleased with their membership if they are educated about Lions. This program should be easy for you to participate in and easy for you to complete. The Lions Basic Mentoring Program-Responsibility level Comprehensive Knowledge: Club District and Multiple District Lions Clubs International The Lions Basic Mentoring Program is an extension of member orientation. At the end of three months, all mentee Lions should have a comprehensive knowledge of: Their club Their district and multiple Lions Clubs International The mentor Lion should teach the mentee Lion about the history and service activities of the local club and the dues and meeting responsibilities of being a Lion. Each mentee should know about the programs and activities in their district and how the club and district work together. Each mentee should know about the history of Lions Clubs International and the branding elements of Lions such as the logo. They should be aware of how LCI can help them. The Lions Basic Mentoring Program is an extension of member orientation. At the end of three months, all mentee Lions should have a comprehensive knowledge of: Their club Their district and multiple Lions Clubs International The mentor Lion should teach the mentee Lion about the history and service activities of the local club and the dues and meeting responsibilities of being a Lion. Attend a zone, region, district, multiple district or international convention and report back to the club. All of these tasks should be accomplished in a six month period. It is the mentor’s job to ensure that a mentee is comfortable with and can complete these tasks. Also in the Lions Basic Mentoring Program, the mentee Lion should: Attend a club board meeting.
