  3. What are we going to do? • We are going to identify and incorporate interjections in the writing process

  4. But FIRST…What ISan interjection?

  5. -An interjection is a word used to express strong or sudden feelings. -Emotions such as fear, surprise, anger, love, and joy can all be expressed with an interjection.-Interjections often end with an exclamation point.

  6. Can YOU think of some examples of interjections?

  7. Examples include words such as: Hi! Wow! Hurry! Stop! Ouch! Ah! …and many, many more.

  8. With a partner, go to this site and play the Interjection Game!http://www.quia.com/cb/56972.html -Enter Player 1 Name and Player 2 Name -Pick a category and a box 100-500 -answer the question and earn points -you will be tested on your interjection and conjunction knowledge

  9. As a class, we are going to look at 5 EXAMPLES and see if we can identify the interjection in each of these following sentences…

  10. Example 1:Goodness! He listened to the man's story and reported it to the police immediately!
