2. Once upon a time, there was an eighteen year old girl named Cindy. Cindy came from loving parents, until one day, her mother died. Cindy’s father could never recover from this wicked incident even after he remarried to a cruel woman named Suzanne. Suzanne had two fat and ugly children of her own. One was named Rachel and the other was named Rebecca. Together, all five members of this dysfunctional family lived together in Manhattan, New York. It was another day in the pizzeria Suzanne owned. Once again, Suzanne was forcing Cindy to make the pizzas and clean up the place while Rachel and Rebecca were staring at the television. And like any other day, Cindy’s dad had been out on a business trip, so nobody could stop Suzanne from doing whatever she pleased. While Suzanne was chopping up pieces of a pizza with a knife, she remembered a random thing from her eighth grade science class. She remembered that her knife was a wedge. When she remembered what a wedge was, she started remembering many things. She remembered that even though she may think she is working, she may not be doing the true definition of Work.She remembered that the unit for work is joules. And she remembered that the Work Input is what work she puts on the knife and the Work Output is the work the knife does.Also, while she working, she overheard conservation between Suzanne, Rachel and Rebecca. First, Rachel said, “When does this party we are going to tonight start?” Suzanne answered, “It starts at seven o’ clock and we don’t want to be late so we will leave at six. And don’t forget the address because I won’t remember it. The address is 241, 7th street. Do you understand?” “Yes mom,” answered the two girls at the same time.

4. By this time, Cindy was excited beyond belief and couldn’t wait to go. However; Suzanne saw her jumping in excitement and asked, “What are you so excited for? Who said you were going?” “Well, I thought since Rachel and Rebecca are going then I could go,” replied Cindy. “You know what; I will make you a deal. If you can make fifty pizzas by six, then I will let you go,” said Suzanne. Cindy was so excited that she started working on the pizza right away. She worked hard but realized her meat grinder wasn’t working. Then she noticed why it was not working. A screw in her meat grinder came undone. Because of that screw, she got a screwdriver and started drilling in the screw. Finally, the screw went back to its proper spot and she could get back to work again. By six, she had made her fifty pizzas and was happy that she finished. Then, Suzanne walked in and Cindy said, “Don’t forget about me. I finished my pizzas and I am ready to go.” “Oh, are you? But, I am not taking you anyways. There is not enough room in the car,” said Suzanne back. “But, you are taking a limo,” said Cindy in a soft, weak tone. She did not want to talk anymore, because she was sad she wasn’t going to this party. All she could think about is why she didn’t go and what did she do wrong. But, by the time she had gathered enough energy to question Suzanne, Suzanne, Rachel and Rebecca had left the pizzeria in their limousine.

6. When Suzanne, Rachel and Rebecca had left the pizzeria, Cindy started bursting into tears. She cried for about ten minutes, until she saw a woman walk into the pizzeria. The woman asked Cindy, “Do you know where I can find Cindy?” Cindy replied, “I am Cindy. But may I ask who are you?” “I am your godmother. And why are you crying?” “I am crying because I was not allowed to go to a party even though my stepmother said I could.” “It seems like you are in a tough situation. You know what, I will help you. You are lucky that I have a dress in the back of my car and that I have a car to take you to the party in.” “Oh, thank you godmother. I don’t think I will ever be able to repay you.” “There is one way. Can you start calling me Chelsea?” “Of course I will, Chelsea.” The two walked to the car and got the dress out of the trunk of the car. Cindy changed into her dress and put on makeup. While all of this taking place, Chelsea asks, “Where is the party taking place anyway?” Cindy replied, “It is taking place at 241, 7th Street.” Then, Cindy finished putting on her on her makeup and was in the car ready to go. While in the car, Chelsea became bored so she talked about the six simple machines. She talked about how the wheels on the car are wheel and axles and that the wheel and axles are in use right now as they are driving. She also said that this car is made up of more than one simple machine so it is a compound machine. And she said that this car has a high mechanical advantage and high mechanical efficiency. But, Cindy became bored of this talk and decided to turn on the radio. She turned the station to “98.4 the Boar.” The station was playing some new music that sounded like a mix of country and techno.

8. After about fifteen minutes of driving, Cindy and Chelsea arrive at 241, 7th street. They step out of the car and enter the building. Once inside, the lobbyist asks them, “How may I help you?” “Do you know where the party is?” asked Cindy. “Yes I do. It is on the top floor. However, the elevator doesn’t reach all the way so prepare to walk some amount,” replied the lobbyist. After that talk, Chelsea and Cindy enter the elevator with some nerdy guy. Once inside the elevator, they realize the nerd is delivering food from Taco Cell. They try to not talk to him, but he starts up conservation anyway. He says, “Did you know that this elevator is a pulley? It is using multiple ropes and grooved wheels to hoist ourselves up to whatever floor we want to get to. Otherwise, we would have to walk up the stairs. Plus, this elevator has a high rate of Power. And don’t forget that Power is measured in Watts.” Cindy replies in an awkward tone, “Thanks for the information about the pulley. I definitely needed to know that.” Thankfully, the nerd got off of the elevator, so Cindy and Chelsea did not have to listen to him. After about a minute trip, they made it to the fortieth floor.

10. At the fortieth floor, they realized there were multiple inclined planes leading to the room where the party was taking place. The inclined planes went back and forth, so they went straight and then turned around and then straight and then turned around and so on. After about a two minute climb, they made it to the room. Once there, they rang the doorbell and someone opened the door. Whoever opened the door let Chelsea and Cindy in immediately. After they went inside, they took a seat and discussed what they were going to do. When a couple of minutes of discussing were over, they agreed on having fun and staying away from Suzanne.

12. Cindy and Chelsea started dancing on the floor and started having a good time. About twenty minutes went by, until Cindy saw the owner of the room. The owner’s name was Fernando. She knew this, because he was the richest man in this part of Manhattan. They immediately caught eyesight and Fernando started walking towards her. He asked, “Would you care to dance my fine lady?” Cindy giggled and replied, “I would love to.” The two danced and danced without a thought in the world besides each other. They would have danced for forever had the party not ended. But, once the party did end, Cindy rushed back to the pizzeria not caring that she lost her high heel shoe somewhere at the party. All she could think about was not getting caught by Suzanne. Cindy finally got back to the pizzeria, but realized she had left the keys to the pizzeria in her other clothing. Because of that, the pizzeria was locked so she had to use a crowbar as a lever to crack open a window. Eventually, she opened the window only to be shocked that Suzanne was standing right there in the kitchen. Obviously, Suzanne gave Cindy a scolding and forced her to do work for the rest of the week. While Cindy was working hard, she didn’t know that Fernando was looking for her across New York City. As the days went by, customers came and poor Cindy was tending to their every need and making pizza. All she could think about was Fernando. But, one day, she saw an Italian sports car pull up to the pizzeria. Cindy was thinking, “Could that be him?” Then, the man stepped out of the car and walked into the pizzeria. The excitement came to a standstill when she realized it was just another rich man. She groaned and ached for Fernando, but will she ever see him again?

14. Weeks went by and Cindy had almost forgotten about the party, until one day, she was in the pizzeria’s kitchen when a man walked in. The first to greet this man was Suzanne, Rachel and Rebecca. This man was very rich and that is why the girls greeted him. The man said that the he was in search of his long lost love. He said that all that was left was this shoe. Suzanne was pleased by this and told Rachel and Rebecca to try on the shoe. They did as told. First, Rachel tried it on, but her foot was too fat to fit in. The same problem happened with Rebecca. Once again, the man had a gloomy look on his face. He almost left, until he saw Cindy working in the kitchen. The man asked for Cindy to come here. She said that she did not want to be disturbed, but the man insisted on this. She took off her old, workers shoes and nervously put her foot into the shoe. It was a perfect fit. Once it was in, she realized the shoe and realized the man. This man was Fernando himself. Fernando said with a joyous tone, “After weeks of searching, I have finally found you. Now, all that I ask of you young maiden is that you take my hand in marriage.” Cindy thought about, but replied in a happy tone, “I do.” Later on that year, Fernando and Cindy got married and lived in Fernando’s penthouse. Suzanne, Rachel and Rebecca were forced to take care of the pizzeria themselves. Fernando and Cindy both learned that love can find itself in strange places. But, in the end everyone except Suzanne, Rachel and Rebecca lived happily ever after.
