Share your expertise in Health IT by becoming a Health IT Fellow. The Fall 2014 Fellowship runs for ~5-7 months, involving tool/policy analysis, virtual meetings, and in-person gatherings. Fellows will collaborate with ONC, drive care transformation, assist local providers in leveraging MU, and lead initiatives in the health IT community. In return, Fellows receive training, national recognition, access to senior leaders, and the opportunity to provide feedback on health reform initiatives.

Share Your Expertise With OthersBecome a Health IT Fellow Today! • What is the Commitment Involved? • Fall 2014 Fellowship runs from September 1, 2014 for ~5-7 months, with potential opportunity for renewal • Tool/policy/initiative analysis est. 10-15 hours total • Est. 15 hours for all virtual meetings • In-person meeting est. 2-4 days/year What Does It Mean to Be a Health IT Fellow? What Fellows Will Do • In collaboration with ONC, create the strategic direction and goals you’d like to accomplish during the course of the Fellowship • Utilize proficiency in the use and understanding of health IT to drive care delivery transformation to provide insight on the specifics of how this reform is implemented • Identify a local provider/practice & help them leverage MU (may be planned or existing quality initiative, etc.) • Actively participate in topic-specific Fellows track, leading creation of direction and meeting bi-monthly • Work with ONC Health IT Vanguard team for in-depth profile and/or other publication • Work with local REC, HIE, and other initiatives to be a local resource for peers • Read/review at minimum three tools/Healthit.gov webpages/initiatives and provide feedback (suggested tools will be provided based on areas of interest) What Fellows Will Receive in Return • Serve as a leaders in Health IT community & MUVers at large • Training on writings, public speaking/communications skills, other topics as requested • National recognition including national platform for publication • Access to ONC Senior Leaders & SMEs on calls regularly • Opportunity to work with organizations across HHS to provideground-level feedback on providers experience with health reform initiatives Health IT Fellows are an elite group of MUVers, empowered to be an active voice in their community and on a national level, articulating specific ways leveraging meaningful use leads to better care, better health, and lower cost Health IT Fellows • Meaningful Use Vanguards • (MUVers) • are a prestigious group of: • Providers, Office staff, & Administrators • who are: • Making meaningful use meaningful in their organizations AND • Are champions for Health IT both at their organization & in their local community Expectation & Visibility Health IT Vanguard Program (Consisting of MUVers & HIT Fellows)
