It's a beautiful country with mountains, beaches, and the most delicious food you'll ever taste. And it's also home to some of the most amazing UNESCO World Heritage sites in the entire world! Listed below are the top 4South Korea UNESCO world heritage sites you must check out: Seokguram Grotto: The first UNESCO world heritage site in South Korea is nestled in the heart of the mountain. The grotto, which houses a Buddha statue, is carved out of granite and has an artificial stream running through it. It's also known for its beautiful rock formations and for being one of the best examples of Buddhist art in all of Asia. Haeinsa Temple: Haeinsa Temple is a Buddhist temple located in the Gyeongsangnam-do province. It was built in 802 CE by Monk Uisang, who was trying to replicate the layout of the Horyu-ji Temple in Japan. The temple has been preserved and restored over the years and still houses many relics from ancient times such as sutras written on birch bark or wood blocks with carved characters on them. The temple itself is a beautiful example of traditional Korean architecture; it also features a host of cultural events throughout the year such as lantern festivals or moon viewing ceremonies (known as hwacheon). Gyeongju Historic Areas: The Gyeongju Historic Areas are a group of sites in the city of Gyeongju, South Korea. The area encompasses more than 1,000 historic buildings and archeological sites, including Buddhist temples, Confucian academies, royal tombs and palace ruins. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. The area is one of the most visited tourist destinations in South Korea, with over two million visitors per year. Hwaseong Fortress: This fortress was built during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) by King Jeongjo (ruled 1776-1800). It's known for its beautiful location atop Namhan Mountain and for being one of the best preserved hanok
