Why is this project needed? • Because it focuses on victim support and assistance • Because it focuses on gendered aspects of trafficking and in particular trafficking in women for prostitution • Because it is based on cooperation between NGOs and government agencies (inter-agency) approach • Because it is regional -> involving 8 countries

What we do • Developing a regional Nordic-Baltic inter-agency network • Strengthened national networking processes and national inter-agency teams • Working towards shared principles and standards • Development and reinforcement of safe shelter and support/assistance programmes for women VOT • Outreach and dissemination activities

Identificationof women VOT • Reflection period and residence status • Sheltered housing and support services • “Safe and planned returns” – what does it mean? • Victim and witness protection for VOTs • Possibilities for financial support and access crime victim compensation schemes
