Waste issue of Vienna appr. 1 million t of rural wastes produced appr. 36% of which are seperately collected and recycled or composted additionally 2 million m³ of sewage sludge Vienna has a total incineration policy:-> all non-recyclable wastes are incinerated-> all dewatered sewage sludge is incinerated

  7. Future perspectives expansion of district cooling new buildings are mostly connected to district heating expansion of tubing network renewable energy sources (e.g. biomass) geothermial plant for 40,000 households
