Ocean Modelling Tool for Bathymetry, Stream Function, and Transport Calculations

An application using GCMface to load grid data, read ETAN data, and compute barotropic and overturning stream functions. Calculate zonal- and meridional-mean heat and freshwater transports based on bathymetry on cube sphere. Includes 4-year mean data.

  1. GCMface package: application on cube sphere 1. load grid: nF=6; fileFormat='cube';grid_load(dirGrid,nF,fileFormat); 2. read data: missing meta,”rdmds2gcmfaces” <== fld=readbin('ETAN.data');fld=convert2gcmfaces(fld); 3. transport computation ADVx/ADVy instead of “broken lines”

  2. Bathemetry on 6 faces Bathemetry on lat/lon

  3. std of ETAN for 1992/Jan (std of 31 daily mean map)

  4. 4-yr mean barotropic stream function

  5. 4-yr mean overturning stream function

  6. 4-yr zonal-mean meridional heat transport

  7. 4-yr zonal-mean meridional freshwater transport
