  4. Tests/Quizzes • All quizzes/tests will be returned with an AP score. • 5=85-100% • 4=84-75% • 3=74-55% • 2=54-30% • 1=29-0%

  5. Test Format • 75 Multiple Choice • 2 Essays • The format will be as similar to the AP test as possible. • The AP test is 125 Multiple Choice and 4 essays. • 3 essays are from the major areas of study (1each) and the 4th is a lab design.

  6. Reading and Writing • Reading and writing are key to success in AP Biology. • Each lab will be turned in with a lab essay. Don’t worry, it is less than one page • You will learn to write in a technical manner.

  8. What is Happening to Our Oceans? • Current research shows a decline in numbers of upper predators in ocean waters. • Current ocean temps are on average 1-4 degrees higher than a century ago. Keep in mind, this does not seem like much, but we are talking about a very large pool • Small fish and zooplankton populations are down.

  9. Areas of Ocean Concern • Salt Marsh Decline • Mangrove Damage and Decline • Shark and other predatory fish decline. • Number of shark attacks is up. Why do you think this is so?

  10. What might be happening to our ocean’s productivity? What is the human influence?

  11. Just A Reminder.... Oceans are the #1 source of water entering the water cycle. They help moderate air temperature. They provide food for millions and support the global economy.
