Vacuum • Memvakum unit digunakanuntukmengevakuasiataumengeluarkanudaradanuap air yang terjebak di dalamsistempemipaannya. • Memvakum unit membuattekanansistemmenjadibertekanannegatif ( vacuum , standard tekanan vacuum 20 s.d 30 inHg). • Untukmembuatvacuum, digunakanalatkhusus yang disebutpompavacuum atauvacuum pump. • Pompavakuminiakanmenghisap gas yang adadidalamsistemsampaimencapaitingkatkevakumantinggi. • Kemudiansistemnyadibiarkandalamkeadaantersebutselamalebihkurang 12 jam. • Adanyakebocorandalamsalahsatulokasiakanmenyebabkantingkatkevakumannyaturun. • Bilamenjumpaikeadaansepertiitumakasistemnyaharusdiperiksadenganmetoda pressure test lagiuntukmemastikanlokasibocornya.

Kenapaharusadapemvakuman? • Dampakadanyaudaradanuap air di dalamsistem: • (i) Uap air dapatmengakibatkanterjadinyapemblokiran di saluranpipakapileratau dryer bilamembekumenjadies. • (ii) Udara yang terjebak di saluranbertekanantinggi di kondenserdapatmenyebabkankenaikantekanankondensing yang membahayakankompresor. • (iii) Uap air dapatbereaksidengan refrigerant bilamendapatpemanasan. Hasilnyaadalahsenyawaasamhidrofluorikdanhidroklorikyang mengakibatkankontaminasipadasistemnya. • (iv) Uap air dapatbereaksidengan lubricant sehinggamegubahkarakteristiklubricant karenaoksidasidan acidic. • (v) Uap air menyebabkanterjadinyaoksidasi. • (vi) Uap air dapatmemperteballapisanpipabagiandalam, sehinggamenyebabkanefekpenyempitanpipa.
