Florence Nightingale Florence Nightingale was born in 1820. She was named after the Italian city – Florence where she was born. She didn’t touch males because they thought it was rude Her parents didn’t think she should work in a dirty hospital.
The lady of the lamp • People called her the lady of the lamp because she would hover around the beds at night. • Some soldiers died in the hospital because how dirty it was and smelly.
Hospital! • Florence wanted to change the hospital because it was smelly, dirty and was not very nice. • So she finely got her way and change the hospital with clean sheets fresh food and beds.
