Public Sector Marketplace • Federal Government Purchasing Goals: • Small - 23% • SDB - 5% • Women Owned - 5% • Service Disabled Vet - 3% • HubZone - 2.5%
Private Sector Marketplace • Major corporations, as well as medium-to-small corporations, often inherit diversity purchasing goals from government agencies with whom they do business • Some major corporations also strive to do business with their typical customer which is often women and minorities (i.e., Sears, Ford).

Federal Certifications SBA offers the following certifications: • 8a • Benefits: sole source contracts, additional contracting support programs, also receive SDB • Criteria: Socially and economically disadvantaged, 2 years in business, direct ownership of company, U.S. citizen, personal net worth below $250K • SDB • Benefits: 10% price preference on certain contracts • Criteria: Socially and economically disadvantaged, direct ownership of company, U.S. citizen, personal net worth below $750K
Federal Certifications SBA offers the following certifications: • HubZone • Benefits: sole source contracts, 10% price preference on certain contracts • Criteria: Business is located in a HubZone and at least 35% of employees live in a HubZone, U.S. citizen
