  2. Ergonomics: The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort; intended to provide optimum comfort and to avoid stress or injury Introduction to ergonomics

  3. The Average Size of a Student The average sizes of students should be considered. If the chair is too small or too large, students will feel uncomfortable sitting for hours in school and may cause distraction to their education. Example from our project: This is the data we collected that helped us create an average size in our group. Doing this enabled us to create an ergonome model.

  4. Students need to feel comfortable in their educational environment, to have the most efficient learning experience. Therefore, ergonomics should be considered before purchasing chairs for students. The Importance of Ergonomics
