Adjectives • Adjectives –a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it. • Adjectives describe a noun and pronoun . • Example : I met a homelessperson in New York.
Adverbs • Adverb – a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjectives ,verb or other adverb or a phrase , expressing a relation of place ,time. • Example: Herman easily lifted the barbell.
conjunction • The act of joining or the condition of being joined. • Example : Do you think this is something that can be learned ?
prepositions • Prepositions -A word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause, as in. • Example- We always take a trip in the summer .
PRONOUN • A word that can function as a noun phrase used by itself and that refers either to the participants in the discourse. • Example- Despite her parents complaints she decided to live by herself in New York.
SUBJECT /VERB AGREEMENT • In syntax, a verb, from the Latin verbum meaning word, is a word (part of speech) that conveys action (bring, read, walk, run, learn) • example-People from the South is very friendly. • correct way : The people from the South are very friendly .
COMMON MISTAKES • In contract law a mistake is an erroneous belief, at contracting, that certain facts are true. It may be used as grounds to invalidate. • Example of a common mistake is Their , there or They’re • Example of Their -- Their dog is a Husky called snowy . • Example of there --- There once was a bird called Dodo . • Example of They’re ---- My aunt and uncle are arriving today .
