  3. SerbiaFacts Here are some basic facts about Serbia: Serbia is located in the central part of the Balkan Peninsula, on the most important route linking Europe and Asia. Serbia is in the West European time zone (one hour ahead of Greenwich time). Its climate is temperate continental, with a gradual transition between the four seasons of the year. The capital city of Serbia is Belgrade.

  5. SERBIANatural and Cultural Treasures If you want to reach the park , you can take the Ibar highway if you are going by car or by bus. The park is very big, it spreads on 12000 hectares. Kopaonik's flora is characterized by a large number of autochthonous plant species . The fauna is also diverse . The turist resorts on the Kopaonik include hotels, rest houses, ski lifts, excellent ski slopes and many other turistic facilities.

SERBIANatural and Cultural Treasures Today this monastery is only a ruin, topping a hill four kilometres from the Church of St. Peter in Novi Pazar Djurdjevi Stubovi, another endowment of Stefan Nemanja, was built thirty years before Studenica (around 1176). The remains of the frescoes on the few existing portions of the church indicate that the paintings once embellishing its walls were the work of a master's hand.

  17. SerbiaSports One of the best basketball playersis Dejan Bodiroga. Dejan was born in Zrenjanin on March 2.1973. He is 2,05 Meters tall. He was fifty-first on the draft-pick list of Sacramento Kings in 1995. He has played for “Real Madrid’ and for “Panatanaikos” and today he plays for Barcelona .
