  11. The Water Burden • Often falls to women and girls • Means they miss out on education and play as they spend hours every day fetching water • School can be impossible • Water may be contaminated meaning increased likelihood of disease

  12. Estimate how far Ayesha walks & the number of steps she does • Total of 8 hours a day round trip • 4 stops of 15 minutes to rest in the heat • walking at an average pace of 4 km per hour • 1km = approx 1500 steps
