  3. The Man with the withered hand is healed on the Sabbath. Vs 1-6. THEME:Jesus the Suffering Servant The Sabbath is “for man” Came with secret plans for Jesus Herodians = hypocrisy PRIORITIES: 1) Yield to God’s Word 2) Service is > ritual APPLICATIONS: 1) Be willing to change our priorities to match the Word of God. 2) We have to care for people.

  4. The Crowds Grow vs 7-12 THEME: King of the Whole World • Jew and Gentile come to Him • Demons know Him • Pharisees reject him PRIORITIES: 1) Jesus had compassion on all who came. APPLICATION: 1) We have to serve and love everybody we come across “O God, don’t make me love that guy.”

The Call of the Twelve Disciples Vs 13-19 THEME:King and Suffering Servant • If God’s behind it, even these guys could do it • Twelve nobodies changed the world PRIORITIES: 1) Planned for leadership after His death 2) Chose them, Trained them, Sent them out APPLICATION: 1) Be “with Him” and absorb Christ-likeness 2) Make an eternal impact

  7. Final Rejection of the Pharisees. Vs 22-30. THEME: King of World, Messiah • Jesus isn’t in league with Satan, he’s throwing Satan out of Satan’s kingdom. • What’s the unforgivable sin? PRIORITIES: 1) The Pharisees want him destroyed 2) Jesus gives the public a choice, “with me or against me?” APPLICATION: 1) Don’t harden your heart when you’re convicted 2) You have to make a choice about Jesus, “with Him or against Him?

  8. More Decisions Made. Vs 22-30 THEME: Jesus is who He is. • He will not be reined in, softened, or toned down • Not by his “own people,” His mother or brothers PRIORITIES: 1) Values God’s will more than food or family. 2) Chooses the will of God, first. 3) Surrounds himself with a group of people who are willing to do the will of God. APPLICATION: 1) Has anyone ever thought you were a little too religious? 2) God Himself has given us a work to do and we must do it
