  2. Using “Track Changes” • This week I decided to refine my Microsoft Word skills, beginning with the “track changes” function. • I found the “track changes” button underneath the “Review” header in Microsoft Word.

  3. Using “Track Changes” • I then changed my “Track Changes Options” regarding insertions: anything newly inserted into my document will be in bold and red.

  4. Using “Track Changes” • On the right is an example of how “Track Changes” looks when I used it for my skills update. • Notice the newly-inserted bold, red font.

  5. Using Mail Merge • I then worked on learning the “Mail Merge” function in Microsoft Word. • This function is really nice because it allows the user to create a single document that can be sent to multiple addresses, while the information in the document can be variably changed.

  6. Using Mail Merge • I used Mail Merge to draft a Forensics letter to be emailed to multiple coaches of other extracurricular activities at my high school. • I first had to insert contacts into my Mail Merge contacts list, but after that was complete, the Mail Merge function worked nicely. • Everyone received their email and was appreciative of the sentiment.

  7. Thus Concludes Module 23 • It took a lot longer than I anticipated (Mail Merge was tricky to figure out on my own), but two more technology skills are in the proverbial bag! • My updated technology skills checklist is inserted into the post on my blog! • -Zachary Taylor
