Bucharest is the capital municipality, cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River.
Bucharest was first mentioned in documents as early as 1459.
Eclecticarchitecture, wichforms a mix of historical and modern buildings, reflects the history of the city in the interwar period. The city was thennamed „Small Paris” (Micul Paris).
Bucharesthas a tranitionalclimate with bothcontinental and subtropicalinfluences. The city’swinterscanget windy. Winter temperatureoften dip below 0 C. sometimeseven to -20 C. In summer the averagetemperatureis 23 C. Temperaturessometimesreach 35 to 40 C in mid-summer in the citycentre.

The North Station is the main railway station in Bucharest. Here therearetrainsthatdepart not only to the city but also to Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Athens, Istanbul, MoscoworKiev

Sarmale- is a dishthatreminds the Piolishdish- gołąbki, theyaremade with pork and rice.
Zacusca– is a saucemade out of aubergines, cucurbittomatoes, onions, mushrooms and pepper. Romaniansofteneatit with bread.
Ciorba de burtă- is a pupular soup.Made out of vegetables and meatorfish. Youcan order it with pasta orrice.
Saramura–is a saltygrilledcarp.
Cozonac - is a type of bread with addedvannillaor rum.
Baklava– is a dessertmade out of thinpastery with addednuts. It alsocontainssugarorhoney.
The CotroceniPalace- itisfound in the west part of the city. It was raised in 1888 by Charles I. It isnow the seat of the president
TheGhika TeiPalacewas raised in 1822 and isnow one of the most elegant places in the capital.
The RevolutionSquareis the most importantsquare in the capital. The Romanianrevolutiontook place here in 1989.
Romanian Ateneumis the most famousconcert hall in Romania. It issituatednear the RevolutionSquare.
The Parlament- itismade out of marble and is the biggestbuilding in Europe and the secondbiggest in the world .
TriumphalArch- was built in 1936 and is the symbol of the city.
StarropoelosChurch was built in the XVII century.
