  14. What Do We Mean by Migrant? To qualify under Title I, Part C Migrant Education:

  15. Who Are Migrant Students In Washington State? • Identified in over 182 school districts, charter schools, and tribal schools • Over 90 participate in regular year and summer school programs • More than 500 students participated in state-sponsored summer events.

Implications to Consider • Review district and school policies and practices that may be barriers to migrant students and their families. • Identify opportunities for migrant students and their families to engage in their education. • Develop a support team that will champion/advocate on behalf of migrant students and their families.
