Week 6: Day 2:Compare your meanings to the following • Superior: higher in rank or importance • Supersede: To replace in power by another person or thing • Superintendent: a person who oversees or directs work • Superstition: a notion or belief not based on reasonable knowledge • Supernatural: being above or beyond what is natural
Day 3: Create your own word • 1.Using the word part “super” which means “above or outside”, make up your own word. • 2.Include a definition for the word. • 3.Use the new word in a sentence. • 4.Be ready to share the new word! • EXAMPLE WORD: – (n) supercar: def. A car that is constructed to be above or exceed the rest. • EXAMPLE SENTENCE: My supercar helped me to reach my destination in record time.
Day 4: Using the words • Write a 1 page story using at least 3 of the following words. Your story can be fiction or nonfiction. • Superior • Superintendent • Supernatural • Superstition • Supersede
Day 5: Illustrate your word • Choose one of the 5 words that we have been discussing in class and illustrate the word. • Be prepared to show your drawing to the class. • It MUST be colorful!!!
