  3. Accidents Preventable by ATP • 2008- Chatsworth train collision – 25 killed • 2005- Amagasaki rail crash – 107 killed, 555 injured • Texting on the job has now been banned by the California Public Utilities Commission.

  4. Most all train systems use some form of ATP • Future of ATP is driverless • Approximately 15 completely driverless worldwide • 3 currently in North America

  5. Potential Negatives of Full ATP systems • Human Factors • Overriding System • Loss of Concentration • Extended Running Times • Degraded Working
