    3. 3 Legal Management of Events Contracts: “ A contract is an agreement between two or more parties that sets out their obligations and is enforceable by law” ( Allen, O’Toole, McDonnell & Harris, 2002, p:271) Mutual obligation & legal binding Written or verbal Contracts should contain the following information: name and details of contracting parties details of service/product terms of exchange signature of both parties

    5. 5 Legal Management of Events Regulations, Licensing & Permits: Identify what exactly is required Conduct preliminary discussions with LGA Amenity issues May need to deal with a number of authorities (refer to Ballarat Events & Beyond manual)

    6. 6 Legal Management of Events Insurance: Obtain appropriate insurances for the event Know exactly what insurance covers Public Liability Insurance Professional Indemnity Directors liability Volunteers Content insurance Workcover Document record of any damages/injuries
