Scheria: After washing up here, the Phaeacians help Odysseus and send him home to Ithaca. Cicones: Odysseus and his men attack the tribe and lose some men. Scylla and Charybdis: Odysseus loses six men to the monster Scylla. Troy: battleground of Trojan war Cyclopes: At Polyphemos’ cave, four men are killed, and Poseidon curses Odysseus for his actions. Underworld: Odysseus seeks Teiresias’ advice and meets souls of the dead. Ogygia: The nymph Calypso imprisons Odysseus for years, but the god Hermes ultimately convinces her to free Odysseus. Ithaca: Odysseus’ home Helios: Odysseus and his men are stranded for a month when the men slaughter Helios’ cattle, prompting Zeus to cause the death of all of Odysseus’ men. Laestrygonians: The giants eat some of the men and destroy most of Odysseus’ ships. Lotus-eaters: feed Odysseus’ men fruit so Odysseus has to force them to leave.
