  1. WP2 Sediment trap results A. Hübner Utrecht University G.J. de Lange Utrecht University J. Thomson SOC, Southampton

  2. Mass fluxes of anoxic and oxic traps and cores • Elemental fluxes in anoxic basins • Compositional changes in anoxic basins compared to anoxic cores, oxic traps and oxic cores • Sediment trap efficiencies

  3. 500 500 1500 1500 2500 2500 3500 3500 Mass fluxes water depth UraniaBasin Bannock Basin water depth

  4. Elemental fluxes in anoxic traps 2002-2003 Mostly an order of magnitude more in UB than in BB, but different in S! and in Mg and Cr and Mn? Also C and N not really an order of magnitude: because the C and N conc are differetn in the basisns, with considerable higher values in BB than in UB

  5. Elemental fluxes in anoxic traps 2002-2003 Elemental flux (Urania/Bannock) – Mass flux (Urania/Bannock) 339 Mostly an order of magnitude more in UB than in BB, but different in S! and in Mg and Cr and Mn? Also C and N not really an order of magnitude: because the C and N conc are differetn in the basisns, with considerable higher values in BB than in UB

  6. Compositional changes in anoxic basins compared to anoxic cores, oxic traps and an oxic core

  7. Compositional changes in anoxic basins compared to anoxic cores, oxic traps and an oxic core Ba is difficult, why so high in BB? UB trap values not reliable Ti: low values in anox traps due to differetn, lateral inputs? Method ICP oes ms Mg: dolomite formation in UB already in the brine, in BB only in sediment Sr/Ca?? What significance, more Sr in different carbonates? Si/Al? What is the baseline?
