FORMAÇÃO • Regra geral:verbo + ed • The concert started at nine o’clock and finishedat midnight. • b) Verbos terminados eme: verbo +d • They closed the store at nine last night. • c) Verbos terminados em-y, precedido de consoante:-y + ied • The children studied for the test two days ago. • d) Verbos monossílabos tônicos e dissílabos oxítonos • terminados em consoante +vogal+ consoante: • dobra-se a última consoante e acrescenta-se ed • The train stopped at this station at five o’clock.

  3. USO Expressar uma ação completada no passado, geralmente indicada por advérbios ou expressãoes adverbiais de tempo: yesterday, a week ago, last month, etc. They openedthat market last month.

AUXILIAR DID • O Verbo Auxiliar do Simple Past é oDID . • Ele é usado apenas nas frase Interrogativas (Afirmativas e Negativas) e • Negativas. • No caso de frase afirmativa o verbo será flexionado para sua forma no • passado. • Did é usado para todas as pessoas.(1ª do singular à 3ª do plural). • Exemplo:Did/Didn’twe travel last weekend? • Os verbos ficam em sua forma base, enquanto o verbo auxiliar (DID) • faz com que o verbo flexione-se no passado.

FORMAÇÃO • Os verbos irregulares assumem uma forma própria no PAST SIMPLE. • The negative : • Anegativadosverbos irregularesforma-se da mesma forma que a negativa • dos verbos regulares: • Negative = subject + didn't + infinitive •     ex. Mark didn't buy an ice-cream.  • The interrogative • Ainterrogativadosverbos irregularesforma-se da mesma forma que a interrogativa • dos verbos regulares: • Interrogative = question-word + auxiliar + subject + infinitive                                                                    •     ex.
