  7. BCC will launch a foster youth task force to determine where gaps in outcomes exist and develop a plan to address these gaps by the end of spring semester 2015. Foster Youth

  9. Peralta Scholars PERSIST Program Reconfiguration of existing BCC initiatives to launch a comprehensive academic success program targeting disadvantaged students from low SES backgrounds to increase recruitment, persistence, and completion .

Program elements include: bridge program, orientation, intrusive counseling, early alert, mandatory homework labs, supplemental instruction, professional development, and dedicated staff and faculty. Program benefits will include Peralta Foundation scholarships, PSPP grants to cover all educational expenses and offset other basic living expenses (including book vouchers, campus parking fees, technology, child care costs, and instructional supplies), delivery of SSSP services, and a built-in peer network from the bridge program.   12. Blended Quantitative and Qualitative Program Evaluation Methodology: • Campus climate survey • Student focus groups and town hall forums • Evaluation of usage and impact of of various student success and support services Evaluation Schedule and Process Begins January 2015.

  13. Rather than wait to provide academic supports to students after they fail, employ predictive data analytics through partnerships with LEA to identify students with high levels of risk before they enroll at the College. Academic Support Index (ASI)
