  13. The story of the OC Soccer win on Saturday, 9/14.  • The day started out as a brisk September Saturday morning.  Our Eagles quickly turned up the heat on the visiting Woodland Hills Wolverines.   Just nine minutes into the match, Sophomore Emma Lowry drove home a powerful shot to the top of the net finishing a flurry of activity in front of the goal.  The play started with a well-placed corner kick from freshman Claudia Lenhart who picked up the assist.  The tally was Emma’s first goal of the season and Claudia picked up her first point of the campaign.  Freshman Essence Canady registered the first goal of her high school career finishing a beautiful cross from sophomore Taylor Renk in the 20th minute.  Only one minute later, junior scoring leader Amber Nolf sent a perfectly placed direct kick from about 25 yards out to the back of the net and the Eagles led 3-0 at the half.  Freshman Kaitlin Laird recorded her second of the year with a beautiful shot from the left side over the outstretched arms of the helpless Wolverine Keeper in the 47th minute.  Emma Lowry picked up her team leading 3rd assist on the play.  Making it a two point day, Claudia Lenhart pressed forward and dropped a long, towering shot just under the crossbar for her first of the year to close out the scoring in the 60thminute.  Junior Abbe Richard sent the ball back out from the box to the waiting Claudia and picked up her first point of the year.  Not many shots came her way, but junior Goal Keeper Gretchen Shepard stopped everything sent her was and preserved the clean sheet for her second shutout of the year – both against Woodland Hills.
