  2. Study What You Don’t Know • Most students spend an inordinate amount of time “just looking through notes.” • Instead create a list of what you need to know and remove things as you study.

  4. Study List Use • The columns can be renamed to fit the course such as biology, foreign languages, etc.

  5. Study Management • Once you have made your chart, look at it and try to eliminate anything you already know by drawing a pencil line through it. • Then take each column and read around what you don’t know. • Put it away and work on something else. • Come back to the chart and see what you can eliminate. • The day of the test, pull out the chart and highlight what you know- this should narrow down your list so that you are just refreshing on a few items.

  6. Other Styles • Flash cards • Instead of using a matrix (columns), use webs and Venn diagrams.
