  2. Psoriasis is one of the most common of skin conditions. It speeds up the life cycle of skin cells and causes them to build up on the skin’s surface. This results in red patches and scales on the skin that are itchy and painful.

  3. Though a chronic disease, there is no cure for psoriasis. The flares come and go; however, they can be managed through moisturizing the skin regularly, managing stress and quitting health-damaging habits, such as smoking, alcohol, etc.

  4. You may have psoriasis if you see:

  5. Red patches on your skin that are covered with silvery scales

  6. Tiny scaling spots

  7. Extremely dry skin that often bleeds

  8. Rigged or thickened nails

  9. Stiff and swollen joints
