  3. The Seven Years War • European Conflicts (1756-1763) • Becomes a major European War (another world war) • Countries allied based mainly on their own economic interests (not entirely on religious interests)

  4. The Seven Years War • British allied with Prussia, which gave Britain an ally (both economically and religiously) on the continent. • French allies were Austria, Russia, and later Spain and Portugal (religion and anti-British power) • The Netherlands (Holland) remained neutral until 1760
