What do I Know? • Read problem twice. • Pay special attention to the numbers and their units. • Usually problems tell 2 things and ask you for the third thing. • Units help you know what the numbers mean. • Write down the two things you know and what you must find out. Now open the paper up and write what you see on this slide inside the first block of your graphic organizer, under the K flap.

8. D S T Now write what you see on this slide inside the second block of your graphic organizer, under the F flap. What Formula do I use? • Use circle-serve form of the formula. • Cover up the term you want to find to see the formula you will use to find it. • Write down the formula that solves for what you need.

9. Now write what you see on this slide inside the third block of your graphic organizer, under the C flap. Where are my Calculations? • Copy down the formula from step 2. • Plug into the formula the numbers you know from step 1. • Don’t forget to write the units—they tell you if you’re right. • Use a calculator to do the math. Cancel out units, when possible.

10. Now write what you see on this slide inside the last block of your graphic organizer, under the A flap. What is my Answer? • Write your answer and draw a box around it. • Don’t forget to write the units for your answer. Check to see that they are the right units for your answer. Finally, use scissors to cut the flaps of your organizer. Be sure to cut only half-way through the paper. Your graphic organizer is ready for you to use! Enjoy! 
