  5. CADET PLATOON AFTER ACTION REVIEWS • PT • Sustain: Great contingency plan for PT due to the weather in Hull. • Improve: Identifying where the water is located and incorporate more water breaks through PT. Also paring up cadets with similar size cadets when “buddy carrying.” • Recommendations: Inform Cadets to hydrate before PT. Also tell cadets to bring a bottle of water or canteen for PT. Bottles of water will need to be neatly organized and easily identifiable via sharpie marker. The closest water station will be pointed out before every PT session. MSIV’s will identify and pair cadets with similar sized cadets during “buddy carry’s”. • Lab: • Sustain: Time Management. Lab did not run over as usual. • Improve: Informing Cadets that they can show up early to the office for a ride in the van to Old Post Park. • Recommendations: Informing Cadets at PT that they can show up early on Lab days for a ride to Old Post Park. • Recruiting and Retention: • Sustain:Getting to know Classmates in the Guard or Reserves who are interested in ROTC. • Improve: Utilizing the campus website “The Link” IOT put our name out and around campus. This website will allow us to broadcast our name around campus not just on the internet, but on the television screens across campus in all of the buildings with monitors. • Recommendations: Talk to Aubrey Holt in the student services office located in Doc Bryan. She can make multiple cadets/cadre in charge of our RSO portion of The Link. We can establish and advertise events on OneTech and on The Link, possibly even the main website depending on the event. • Garrison • Sustain: Effective lines of communication • Improve: Getting the SL’s to brief their OPORD as soon as possible. This includes MSII’s • Recommendation: Inform MSII’s and III’s that it is their responsibility to effectively communicate to their peer’s all pertinent information. Getting all squad members together for an OPORD briefing not only gives all cadets in the CDT Platoon pertinent information, but it allows them to prepare and communicate how they plan on accomplishing key tasks in ROTC and other Classes UNCLASSIFIED Payne271600JAN14
