  1. Single Stream Recycling Program“Think Green” • What is single stream? Single stream recycling is a technology that allows participants to place all their recyclables-such as fiber i.e. newspaper, office paper and cardboard and non-fiber i.e. plastic bottles, steel and aluminum cans into a single container for subsequent collection, processing and remarketing. • In some markets, glass bottles and jars are included. There is no sorting of materials into separate bins and no use of multiple collection vehicles. • This program will show that Morehouse School of Medicine is an environmental friendly institution.

RECYCLING NON-ACCEPTABLE ITEMS • Aluminum foil • Auto glass • Ceramics • Batteries (separate program) • Film canisters • Light bulbs (separate program) • Painted wood • Paper towels • Plastic grocery bags (Please return to your supermarket) • Plastic wrap Porcelain Styrofoam • Treated wood • Empty aerosol cans

Sodexo’s Environmental Friendly GS-37/41A Green Seal Certified Chemicals An attempt to discuss the creation of an environmental friendly cleaning system, cannot begin without covering the chemicals that are used in the cleaning process. Sodexo Housekeeping has made a full transition to all green chemicals; there are a few key cleaning compounds that have been implemented. Ecolabproduces several products that fall under their certified Green Seal products. They are: QC- 51E is a general purpose cleaner covering most surface; this cleaner is non-caustic, non-corrosive QC- 52E is a heavy duty glass cleaner for windows, glass, mirrors, Plexiglas, countertops, marble, metal fixtures, plastics, and other hard surfaces. QC- 91E Neutral Bathroom Cleaner based on a blend of citrates and specialty surfactants. QC- 91D Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner is used not only as a neutral cleaner such as in QC-91E, but also doubles as a disinfectant for hard surfaces. QC Bright-Speed-Usedinvarious hard floor cleaning applications. Generally used as a general floor cleaner, or as a floor stripper. All five products are designed to offer customers superior quality and superior results.
