  13. Student Reflections For this project, I used the before, during and after reading process. It helped me to really put thought into what questions I wanted to ask Aaliyah as well as helped me to analyze the story in more detail. ~ Megan The most rewarding thing out of this project was reading to the child and bonding. It has always brings me joy to work with children and see them smile while they are with you. ~Jalen The most rewarding aspect of being a volunteer was being able to teach someone else something new. ~ Katherine Just like I showed the child I could relate his interest to the story, reading is a social activity with others and you can show them connection they might not have thought about. ~Amber I would say to future students doing this assignment, go in with your heart open, the kids are funny, they do behave, and they just love the attention. You’ll gain an enjoyable experience watching the smile on their faces. ~ Buffy
