  2. Minimize the risk of data by meeting PCI DSS Audit Digitalization has brought a change in every aspect of life. Paper money is being rapidly replaced by digital money. We are using this feature in every way possible due to which, thousands of transactions take place every day in a business or a company. Very few of us even realize that sharing financial details with a company has potential risks involved. Nowadays, almost every company accepts card payments (debit card or credit card) and it is their responsibility to take required actions to protect the financial information of their customers. Not only businesses, but card companies and banks are also concerned about their transaction details and data of their customers. Data theft is a big issue that can have some serious consequences, so a set of security standards, namely, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is designed by the card companies and applies to all the businesses that use card payments. 2

  4. ▪ The main purpose of PCI DSS is to protect the financial information of cardholders and it is done by setting some security standards that all merchants/businesses must meet or exceed. The PCI DSS standard store, collect and process the financial data of the cardholders. It makes sure that all the companies handling this data are capable of doing so and have control over the security breach and accidental loss of this data. PCI DSS audit is done by assessors in which they review the IT infrastructure and internal controls of the company and then prepare a report mentioning that if a company is meeting the PCI standards or not. ▪ 4
