Clerkships • 2 Week Basic Clerkship • Seattle VA, Swedish • WAMI Sites • 4 Week Advanced Clerkship • UWMC, HMC
Clerkship Structure in Seattle • First Monday - Meet at UWMC for lecture/workshop and Simulation • Following days, meet in the Operating Rooms between 6:30 and 6:45 AM • Grand Rounds on Wednesday mornings at 6:30AM at UW-HSB • PBLD on Thursdays 4:00-6:00PM at UW-HSB
Clerkships in Seattle • Duty Hours are from about 6:30AM till end of day, usually around 5:00PM • One-on-One with a Resident and an Attending • No Calls • No Weekend Duty • Must make up more than one day off
Grading • No Exams • High Pass, Pass or Fail according to performance evaluation by faculty mentors. • Honors by submitting a review paper judged by a panel of 3 anesthesia faculty members • Best Honors paper is awarded John J. Bonica Prize at graduation
