THE GOOD OLD SUTTA DAYS Do you know which day it is? Okay, let me make it simpler, which month it is? If you could answer these two questions without looking at the calendar, you’ve earned my respect. Because I feel not keeping a track of these are part of the new normal. The days, weeks and months, all feel the same for the past 4 months or so. While we are getting used to new norms, we are also sulking over the moments we took for granted in the past. I’ve always imagined these days to be the best onesas they are final days of my master’s degree but who would have thought things would turn upside down? Who would have thought the last time we gave a proxy or bunked a class or smoked at our regular spot would actually be the last time we’d be doing it? My friends and I only talk about the plans for graduation day and post-party, oh! How I wish I could actually live that moment. The regular adda for smoking, the one place which had full attendance, now seems to be locked down in my memories. And those group studies which was everything but studies, accompanied with smokes after smokes and random conversations about classmates, teachers, movies, galaxies and whatnot, are all just stories to talk about. Well, the near future seems to be uncertain and no one knows when I’d meet my gang again, have that smoke at our regular spot again. For now, we are connected virtually as we hangout on zoom call. That’s where we rekindle the good old days and share a laugh while puffing out our smoke. Even though the conversations remain the same, it feels incomplete. We wish this phase ends soon and we get to relive the days which are long time pending. Source:https://www.smokersforum.in/smokers-digest/detail/sutta-stories/the-good-old- sutta-days
