  5. 2017 Special Report on Fishing by “Take Me Fishing”: Number of Youth Participants • Fishing among children increased to 6.8 million participants in 2016.

To Use Backyard Bass • Place the fish on the ground(well-cut grass, pavement or indoor surface) or on the water, and cast plug just beyond the fish. • Reel in and try to “catch” the first fish as the casting plug tucks itself into the mouth of the fish. • Once you’ve mastered your casting technique with the Backyard Bass you will be ready to hit the water for some real fishing.
