  2. Carlo Janka • Won the Olympic gold medal in giant slalom, adding to the world title he won last year. • His time was two minutes, 37.83 seconds. • “Before Janka, the last Swiss man to win Olympic gold in the giant slalom was Max Julen in Sarajevo in 1984.”

  3. SilvanZurbriggen • American Bode Miller won the super combined with a time of 2 minutes, 44.92 seconds, • Which was only 0.4 seconds faster than SilvanZurbriggen (who won the bronze).

  4. Michael Schmid • Won gold in the Men’s Ski Cross. • Is nicknamed Colossal • Came into the contest as the current leader in the ski cross World Cup standings

  5. Simon Ammann • Won gold in Men’s Ski Jumping Large hill with a jump of 138.0 meters • "Everything just worked so well," Ammann told Swiss television after his win. "It's unbelievable." • In 2002 Ammann won both the normal and large hill events in Salt Lake City, becoming only the second person ever to do so. Having won both events again in Vancouver, Ammann now stands alone.
