Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, A budding eco-exemplary and sustainable area • Eco-Vallée: a new and diverse land offer for companies, business and innovation • Grand Arenas: international business center • Nice Méridia: urban technopolis • A new international business district in immediate proximity to Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, Grand Arénas is the new location for decision-makers in the services sector. • 51 hectares • 680 000 sqm of building land capacity • 1 350 housing units • 75 000 sqm exhibition park project • Nice Airport multimodal transport hub • Nice Méridia urban technopolis is a new development dedicated to technological activities, research and education, set to act in synergy with the skills prevalent at Sophia Antipolis. • 26 hectares for the 1st operational sector • 320 000 sqm of building land capacity • 2 100 housing units

Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, Leading the way: smart gridsprojects in the Plaine du Var • Reflexe : • New electrical network project in partnership with Veolia, Alstom, Sagemcom, Supelec & INES • Control of consumption, production and storage of energy • Smoothing the energy load in 20 buildings • Nice Grid : • Large photovoltaic power generation: 3 MWc • Partnership with EDF, ERDF, DAIKIN, SAFT etc. • Over 1 500 homes in CARROS equipped with smart meters to save energy • €30m budget • 2 MW electrical storage

Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, A pioneer in electric car sharing • 1st city in France to promote this innovative scheme of self sharing electric car system • Over 4 500 regular users • 2 900 reservations for the month of May 2013 • Over 1 300 000 km covered and 135 000 hours of use • 70 stations set up • 210 vehicules in use

Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, A new initiative: « smart parking » • 2000 vehiculesensorstoday, 10 000 long term • 1 mobile application ‘Nice City Pass’ : • Since March 2013, an intelligent parking system thatallowseach driver to identify, in real time, availability close to its location via the application available on all smartphones. • Information on public transport • Payment • Touchscreenmultimedia kiosks to replace parking meters : • Different parking payment modes (cash, creditcards, NFC) • Information on the city • Information on public transport

Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, …the Internet of Things… Experimentation in the center of town by • Over 200 sensors set up in collaboration with Cisco to develop a ‘smart neighborhood’. • Sensorsused to collect real-time data on traffic, parking, cleanliness, public lighting, air quality etc. and optimize the management of the city and offer new services for: • Environment • Public lighting • Mobility • Waste management • The crossing of all this data will enhance services in destination of: • users • the administration • and the economic world

Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, An ecosystem of R&D and care A new and innovative life science « Bio-cluster » • The National Reference Center “health at home and autonomy” • The Telemedicine Center • Gerontechnology research center • The Proton Therapy Center • The Center for Innovation in Health and Usage (CIUS) • Novel R&D platforms: Biomed at Pasteur and Archimed at Larchet • Mother-child center at Lenval • A R&D center against cancer and ageing • An Alzheimer’s institute • As one can see, the subjects of e- health and the “silver economy” are at the heart of our concerns in implementing innovative solutions using digital solutions to improve the lives of those affected.
