  5. Play Leader Training • Schools left to book: • Places issued on a first come first served basis. Bookings to be made through the website. • Deadline- Friday 28th February

Junior Games Maker Training • Best 5 play leaders from each school • Sharing ideas from different schools • How to present a School Assembly - Developing communication skills • Taking an active role on the playground - JGM’s encouraged to create their own playground games. • How to run a mini multi-skills festival - Introduction and encouragement to run multi- skills activity circuit’s for younger age groups.

PLT actions • Confirm venues • Nominate 5 best Play Leaders from your school Year 5 and/or 6 to participate from your school • Distribute and collate consent forms to pupils – (forms on your table) • Transport will be down to parents/guardians for arrival at 9am for a 9:15am start, pick up at 3pm • Return to forms to Jason Ling jling@rickmansworth.herts.sch.uk

  10. Tag Rugby Leagues • The deadline for completion of fixtures is Friday 21st March 2014. • There is no Partnership Tournament / Champions League due to the Saracens Tournament Thursday 24th April 2014. • Please use your Family Meetings to set fixture dates.

  11. Kwik Cricket Leagues • The deadline for completion of fixtures is Friday 4th July 2014. • There is no Partnership Tournament / Champions League due to the Partnership Kwik Cricket Tournaments. • Please use your Family Meetings to set fixture dates.

  12. Year 5 Hockey • Family Competition – Potential for all Year 5 students to participate. • 10 per team - 5 Boys and 5 Girls - 7 A-Side Matches. • The teams who finish in 1st place will qualify to represent their Family at the Partnership Finals on Thursday 3rd April 2014.

  13. KS1 and KS2 Gymnastics • Monday 10th March 2014. • Partnership Final – 6 per team. • Teams must include both boys and girls. • Floor and Vault Routines. • The team who finish in 1st place will qualify to represent the Partnership at the Herts School Games Final.

  14. Year 6 Hockey • Thursday 20th March 2014. • Partnership Final – 8 per team. • Teams must include 4 Boys and 4 Girls. • Quicksticks Hockey Rules will be followed 4 a-side. • The team who finish in 1st place will qualify to represent the Partnership at the Herts School Games Final.

Year 6 Kwik Cricket • Family Competition – Potential for all Year 6 students to participate. • 8 per Team – Boys, Girls or Mixed • Kwik Cricket Rules will be followed • The teams who finish in 1st place will qualify to represent their Family at the Partnership Finals on Thursday 22nd May 2014. • The team who finish in 1st place will qualify to represent the Partnership at the Herts School Games Final.

  16. Year 4 Tennis • Thursday 12th June 2014. • Partnership Final – 4 per team. • Teams must include 2 Boys and 2 Girls. • Mini Tennis Red Rules will be followed. • The team who finish in 1st place will qualify to represent the Partnership at the Herts School Games Final.

  17. Year 6 Athletics • Family Competition – Potential for all Year 6 students to participate. • No Limit on team size, all students can take part • Boys and Girls Competitions will be scored separately • The teams who finish in 1st place will represent their Family at the Partnership Finals.

This is the latest news section where you can see what has happened in the partnership in the last month. Here is what is happening throughout the month. You follow exactly the same steps with booking the play leader training and intra school competitions. BOOKING ON THE WEBSITE When you first book onto the system, you need to enter your first name, last name, email address and mobile phone number, and then you create a password. Once you’ve done that, you can click on next Once you have booked one and signed up. You then can sign in using your email address and password to log in. once you’ve done that, click onto next to take you to the next page. Follow us on twitter @TRW_SSP

As there are 2 age groups for the gymnastics it will ask you a question for what age group you wish to enter, you only need to put in the relevant information for your competition. In more cases then not you won’t have to put the gender down. Once you’ve done that you press confirm. This is the confirmation page. It shows the details along with the reference number. You can export the event straight to your personal calendar if you have one on outlook or Google. In addition you can print off your confirmation for your records. Follow us on twitter @TRW_SSP

This is for your records and there is also a receipt which comes attached with every email if you wish to print off and bring you. This is what the receipt looks like, it just includes all of the necessary information for your records. You might want to print it out and put it in the staff room or your classroom. Top Up Swimming • Top Up swimming will be running this year. • Aimed at those pupils unable to reach the national curriculum requirement and swim 25m by the time they leave KS2 • Monday 9th - Friday 13th June • At pools local to Primary schools: • Woodside Leisure Centre • William Penn Leisure Centre • Sir James Altham • Rickmansworth School

  36. The Sport Premium • £8,000 per school, + £5 per pupil • Typical school will receive £9,250 • Extended from 2015 to 2020 • Ringfenced specifically for PE and School Sport • Enhance and enrich current provision

The Apprenticeship Scheme • 16-18 year olds • Complete an NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership • Opportunity to complete additional qualifications. • Paid national minimum wage – approx £80 per week - £4,200 per year • Day to day duties may include: • Supporting teaching and learning • Working alongisde G&T/SEND pupils • Leading sessions where appropriate • Supporting the SSP at events • Setting up and running extra-curricular/Change4Life Clubs • Administrative support

The Apprenticeship Scheme • In the process of completing Level 3 Award in ‘Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment’ – acts as Lead Tutor and assessor • SSP will run an information evening for head teachers, PLT’s & governors on Thursday 13th March, 4-6pm at Rickmansworth School with further details on costs, recruitment, timelines etc.
