  1. Quick Writing Activity Turn to the next clean sheet in the Reading Section of your notebook. Think of a character from a book, TV show, movie, cartoon, video game, or play. List EVERYTHING you know and can think of about that character. Now, go back and think about each one of those. HOW do you know that character is ______? Make a note beside several, telling HOW YOU KNOW.

  2. Character Traits Character Traits: The details that tell about a character’s personality. ***They are NOT physical descriptions, actions, or jobs.*** To find character traits, look at what the AUTHOR says (description) & what the CHARACTER does (actions), says (dialogue). Then, translate those things into TRAITS. Ex: Because Wile E. Coyote plays tricks on the Roadrunner, I know he is sly. Take these SHORT notes in the “Reading” section of your notebook – close to the plot map notes. Trait Action
