Top tips • Use headings and styles to format your documents • Provide alt text for images • Save your Word document to PDF (don’t print to PDF) • Use simple, uniform tables. • Provide captions for videos and transcripts for audio files. • Fonts should be large enough to read comfortably and undecorated - Verdana Arial or Helvetica rather than Times New Roman • Be careful with colour. Tip: Print your document out in black and white. Does it still make sense? • Use clear and simple language and explain any terms or acronyms.
