  1. Co-Teaching Solutions Systems Where teaching and technology come together.

  2. 21st Century Tools for Co-Teaching • CTSS is comprised of 2 applications, with a 3rd on the way: • Co-Teaching Observation System v2.7 • Co-Teachers’ Toolbox v2.7 • Co-Teaching E-Training v1.8

  3. Allows administrators to observe co-teaching in the classroom. • Can be easily loaded onto Desktop, laptop or PDA. • Helps observers know what to look for, listen for and ask for to determine co-teaching effectiveness. • Enables administrators to have co-teachers conduct a self-survey on their own effectiveness and compare it to the observer’s report. • Provides observers with descriptive documentation to use in starting a conversation with co-teachers on where they can improve. • Assists observers in collecting clear data on what is and what is not going on in the co- taught class so that correlations can be made related to student outcomes. • Uses historical and trend data to create numerous reports to include: • o Effectiveness by individual teacher • o Effectiveness by grade • o Effectiveness by subject area • o Effectiveness by entire school • o Effectiveness over time • Directly links to the Co-teachers’ Toolbox, enabling administrators to provide specific strategies according to co-teachers’ observed strengths and weaknesses. 5. The Observation System allows administrators, mentors, coaches to evaluate co-teaching effectiveness utilizing Dr. Murawski’s Co-Teaching Observation checklist. As well, a narrative observation may be completed.

  6. Here is a sample of the observation checklist. Click the Open Narrative button and it will display narrative comments that may be pasted into your notes sections.

  7. After the observation is completed, click on Team Evaluation Report to print out the observation report. There are two reports that print out. The first is this summary report.

  8. The second is the Strengths and Weaknesses report. This ranks all the co-teaching strategies based on how effective they were being utilized in the classroom. The best feature with this report is that it directly links to the Teachers’ Toolbox where co-teachers may view the pages from Dr. Murawski’s, The Inclusive Classroom, based on their co-teaching strengths and weaknesses.

  9. This report is a school-wide snapshot of co-teaching proficiency.

  10. This report gives the detail by breaking down each strategy and showing it’s proficiency rating school-wide. The school-wide data reports are also broken down by month and are easily exported for further data analysis.

  11. In the next report the user selects a teacher and it will give an overview for that particular teacher in the 5 Co-Teaching areas as identified by Dr. Murawski as criteria of effective co-teaching.

  12. The user selects a teacher and it will give the history for every time the teacher has been evaluated.

  13. Each co-teacher may complete a self-survey, to document how effective they feel their co-teaching is in their classroom.

  14. The Observation System will show each teachers’ self-survey results and then the last time an observation was completed to compare all the results.

  15. CTSS – Teachers’ Toolbox • Provides co-teachers with numerous pages of staff training references. • Allows co-teachers to identify students’ learning styles for increased differentiation. • Lists a variety of academic and behavioral strategies for co-teachers who are working with a diverse group of students. • Enables co-teachers to do curriculum mapping at the beginning of the year with a whole class and/or for individual students. • Presents co-teachers with a rubric maker that aids in differentiated co-assessment. • Furnishes co-teachers with a revolutionary 21st century collaborative lesson planning tool: • o Gives teachers a pull-down menu of state standards. • o Spirals state standards for meeting the needs of all learners. • o Encourages co-teachers to identify an active role for each teacher using the five • co-instructional approaches • o Lets co-teachers import, export, update and archive co-planned lessons. • o Interfaces directly with the curriculum mapping tool to document • standards-based lessons. • o Reminds co-teachers of individual student considerations and needed adaptations.

  16. The most comprehensive Teachers application available today. Designed specifically for: Co-Teaching, Differentiated Instruction (DI) and Response to Intervention (RTI) Utilizing the Strengths/Weaknesses report from the Observation System, click on the reference page to view Dr. Murawski’s book.

  17. The most comprehensive Teachers’ software application available today. The Learning Styles section provides a learning styles inventory for students to complete and then teachers can enter their students’ learning styles and it reports out a grouped report for easy differentiation of instruction.

  18. This system provides a curriculum projection map based on your state’s content standards. We will return to the other curriculum maps once we have completed some Lesson Plans

  19. The co-teachers will want to complete this at the beginning of the school year. It is a wonderful tool to get teachers talking about content and differentiating lessons.

  20. The Lesson Planning section is very comprehensive. First, teachers enter student considerations, accommodations and/or interventions. These will display with the click of a button, during the lesson planning. All lessons may be archived at the end of the year and restored to current lessons whenever needed.

  21. Features: Build a database of your lessons Easily export and import lessons Users’ state standards are pre-loaded Teachers may enter the lowest academic level in their classroom and it will pull all standards starting from that grade level to current grade level. Click the Considerations button and see a list of students’ considerations or RTI Tier while working on the lesson plan. Click the strategies button to get some great ideas from Dr. Murawski

  22. Easy entry of lesson plans.

  23. Student considerations, RTI Tier and interventions are available during lesson planning

  26. The standard alignment report allows teachers to view all standards required and when they have been covered. This report may be emailed.

  27. Once teachers have completed lesson plans, click on the Curriculum Map reports. They are automatically generated utilizing the data from the lesson plan maker.

  28. The system also includes a rubric maker, simply a must for differentiating instruction.

  29. The run charts are a bonus feature based on the Baldrige Model of high performing schools. These charts allow for students to monitor their own progress on the standards.

  30. System Requirements: Operating System: Windows 98 or greater; Windows XP Software: MS Office 2000 or greater
